Quote of the Day

"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people
always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become
great."

Mark Twain

How do you think you can apply this in real life?

I have always been encouraged by wonderful, great people.
I have been put down by those "small" people.
I have come to see that those small people are usually very insecure individuals.
And isn't funny how it is easier to believe something bad about ourselves than something good?

HI TOMMY, ME HERE SAYING HI AGAIN
I THINK THAT NEGATIVE PEOPLE WILL STAY CLOSER TO US ONLY IF WE LET THEM TO BE.
I KEPT MY MIND BUSY AT WORK, MY FAMILY, AND AUTHOMATICALLY NEGATIVE PEOPLE LEFT ME ALONE.
I THINK THAT NEGATIVE THINKING CAN BE CURE ONLY BY THOSE WHO ARE COMMITED TO CHANGE FOR THEMSELVES, AND BY POSSITIVE AUTOSUGESTION.

HAVE YOU NOTICE THAT WHEN YOU START TO PUT THE PRINCIPLES OF THINK AND GROW RICH INTO PRACTICE, LIFE STARTS TO TEST YOU IN MANY WAYS AS YOU HAVE NEVER IMAGINE?

LIFE WILL BRING SO MANY NEGATIVE THINGS TO YOU, BUT IF YOU APPLY THOSE PRINCIPLES WITH PERSINTENCE LIFE WILL GIVE UP AND THE REWARDS WILL COME YOUR WAY.

O Casamento do Sol

A great quote - Mark Twain always says things in the finest way, and even if you don't agree with what he says, you can't help but think about it.
Many of my friends are 'small' people - they do not encourage me to go after my dreams nor do they believe that I can. My family doesn't even think I can - and maybe I don't either.
I believe what Mark Twain says in this quote is true - and I feel these great people sometimes. They inspire me, encourage me and they make me want to live to see what tomorrow brings. But I have never met any of them - they are all people who I simply admire. People like Mark Twain who by saying a simple thing can make you feel at ease.
I won't cut my friends or my family out of my life, even though they don't believe in me. I guess in some way - I believe in myself, and by knowing that dreams do come true - for some people, I can go on, hoping they will for me...

Great quote - and very timely. I recently embraced this philosophy. I've also had the mindset for the past 5 years or so that no matter what the situation is, I can learn something positive from it. I think things happen for reasons that I won't see for a long time. Even the negative people can impact you in a positive way if you choose to see it in that light. I agree with "Blessed" about the small people feeling insecure - it's easier to make those comments about others to make yourself feel better than to actually go out of your way to be pleasant and polite and do something positive.
